Hi! In this video, I’m going to show you how
to put items on hold online through our website. This service is available for Deerfield Library
card holders. Start at our website, deerfield library dot
org. Then click in the search bar and type in a
keyword–this can be a title, name, or subject relating to the title you’re searching for–and
then hit enter. Now you’ll see the results of your search.
Item listings that have a “Request it” button can be placed on hold. If you’d like
to put the item on hold, click “Request it” You’ll then be prompted to put in your name
and fourteen digit library card number. Type them in and click, “Login.” Then you’ll be taken back to your search
results where you’ll see a pop-up window on the right side of the screen. If you have a deadline after which you don’t
want the material, click on the box and enter your date. In either case, click submit, then click OK to complete your
request. When the material is available you’ll have
three full days to pick it up from our hold shelf. You will be notified by phone or email
depending on your account preferences. (These preferences can be changed by speaking to
a patron services staff member or by accessing your account online.) And remember, your item still needs to be
checked out, using the same account it was held under. Thanks for watching! Check out some of our
other informational videos, and if you have any questions, feel free to give us a call.
