This is a video on how to replace a
commercial storefront keyed cylinder with a thumbturn. The first thing we’re going to do is unscrew the faceplate. The door we’re installing the thumbturn on didn’t have a
faceplate, so we’re ready to loosen the set screw. You can now unscrew the cylinder you want to switch out. If you can’t get a grip on the cylinder. You can stick a
screwdriver in the keyhole and use it to turn the cylinder. Fit a collar on the new thumbturn, insert it into the door so the little cam in the
back is facing up and the turn itself is vertical. Then screw the thumbturn in place. Tighten the set screw again, so the cylinder is secure in the door. Test the thumbturn to make sure it engages the lock correctly. Thanks for watching. For more information, please visit our website at www.allaboutdoors.com
