hi it’s Therese from Lostinpaper and
I’m here for scrapbook boutique and it’s time to color with you I have some
oxides and some Avery Elle to share with you today but first we want to start by
using the oxide inks and I’m creating a nice bright colorful background and to
do that I’ve got the splash of color stamp set from Altenew and I’ve just
chosen three oxide inks that I think will go really well together so it’s the
picked raspberry the peacock feathers and also the twisted citron and I’m just
stamping out sort of a random splotches kind of background and this is on some
Bristol smooth cardstock and I’ve used that because I kind of want it to be I
wanted to do a bit of a watercolor technique on it and if I had of just
used it straight onto my card base I was worried that it might warp a little bit
so I’ve got my distress sprayer here and I’m just adding some of
the larger droplets over the whole image and you’re not going to see much of this
it’s just me really playing with the oxide inks because they are fairly new
to me and the new release the new colors are all of my go to colors in the normal
distress inks so I just couldn’t resist I have an avery elle stamp which is a bus
full of really cute critters and they’re going to a birthday party and I’ve also
stamped this on some Bristol smooth cardstock and I have used my Misti
because I want to come back in and restamp it after and that just gives me
such a wonderful edge and a crisp image afterwards since I started doing this
I’ve just noticed such a big difference in the images like they go from looking
a bit bluuurrg and it gives me back those crisp edges that I’ve lost once I’ve
added the colours so I am using my Zig colours today I have listed them all
over at the blog the link will be in the YouTube description below initially I
did start by making them a little bit lighter and trying to have that
watercolor effect you’ll notice that afterwards I do
pretty much just go direct with the marker to the paper and get bold colors
I think that looked better in this birthday bus alright so I’m going to
leave you with the coloring now I’ll be back really soon when it’s all finished so while that’s set aside to dry I
thought I’d work on my sentiment and I’ve got a die-cut word that says hugs
it’s an MFT and it’s from the words for friends set which has three different
sentiments in the set and I’m using some black cardstock and I’m going to use
this as a negative space and I want to add the words happy birthday and this is
out of the Avery our birthday bus stamp set again and I I’m gonna heat emboss
this on some white on some white no I’m not on some black and heat emboss it in
white on some black I was lying to you there wasn’t I and I don’t know I just
don’t ever get sick of white embossing on black cardstock I don’t know if you
are but I’m not so you’ll probably keep seeing it this time I’ve used onyx black
ink and this is a really vibrant bold pigment ink and I just look at that it’s
amazing it just makes all the difference to
these images I’m gonna assemble my card now i have also fussy cut out my images
I did stamp some presents as well as the birthday bus and I did leave a very
small border around the edges because it’s got such a busy background it means
it’s going to help but the images pop off the front of the card
and I’m just using a dot adhesive here because I want to adhere my sentiment
panel directly to my card front now this is a top fold card and I wanted to have
the negative space so that I can see the colors come through the word hugs I
think that’s a lot of fun I have got some pop dots behind the bus but then I
remembered that I hadn’t actually stamped out the little puffs of smoke
this stamps it has some really cool things in it like a cake and like the
presents and I put up that I’ve also colored that I’m going to put on the bus
and and it has a little couple of puffs of smoke and I thought that would be
really fun to add to this it is quite a busy card for me but it’s bright and I
just love bright and I thought the would make a fantastic children’s
birthday card so just use my onyx ink snuck those couple of puffs of smoke in
from behind the bus and I can just sit this bus up on top of my sentiment Road
well I think it’s kind of like there’s some fireworks going off in the
background to celebrate the birthday and that’s my finished card for today thanks
so much for joining me I’ll have all the supplies linked below so until next time
happy papercrafting bye
